The Avuncular Legal DNA Test determines the biological relationship between a child and their aunt or uncle. Using cheek swabs, this test provides legally admissible results for cases such as inheritance, custody, or other legal matters. It is ideal when the alleged father is unavailable for a paternity test. Results are typically available in 5-7 business days.
How is this test performed?
The process is straightforward. DNA samples are collected from the child, the biological mother, and a full sibling of the child’s alleged father using a soft cheek swab. If available, additional full siblings of the alleged father may also be included in the test. The child’s DNA is compared to the full sibling’s DNA and the mother’s DNA. The mother’s participation helps determine her contribution to the child’s DNA, allowing for an accurate assessment of the paternal contribution from the alleged father’s sibling.
