The Avuncular Informational DNA Test (Non-Legal) helps determine whether a child is biologically related to an aunt or uncle by comparing DNA from the child, the child’s mother, and a sibling of the alleged father. This test provides accurate results for personal knowledge only and is not admissible in court or for legal matters.
How is this test performed?
The process is straightforward. DNA samples are collected from the child, the biological mother, and a full sibling of the child’s alleged father using a soft cheek swab. If available, additional full siblings of the alleged father may also be included in the test. The child’s DNA is compared to the full sibling’s DNA and the mother’s DNA. The mother’s participation helps determine her contribution to the child’s DNA, allowing for an accurate assessment of the paternal contribution from the alleged father’s sibling.
