Avuncular Informational DNA Test (Non-Legal)

Original price was: $475.00.Current price is: $379.99.

The Avuncular Informational DNA Test helps determine if a child is biologically related to an aunt or uncle by comparing DNA samples from the child, the child’s mother, and a sibling of the alleged father. This test is for informational purposes only and cannot be used in legal situations.

How is this test performed?

The process is straightforward. DNA samples are collected from the child, the biological mother, and a full sibling of the child’s alleged father using a soft cheek swab. If available, additional full siblings of the alleged father may also be included in the test. The child’s DNA is compared to the full sibling’s DNA and the mother’s DNA. The mother’s participation helps determine her contribution to the child’s DNA, allowing for an accurate assessment of the paternal contribution from the alleged father’s sibling.

Why might I have this test done?

This test is ideal for determining the biological relationship between a child and their paternal aunt or uncle, especially when the alleged father cannot or will not participate in a paternity test. It provides valuable information and peace of mind but cannot be used for legal purposes. If you require results for legal matters, consider our Avuncular Legal Test.

How are the results reported?

The test results are presented with an avuncular index. An index above 1.00 indicates that the individuals are more likely to be biologically related, while an index below 1.00 suggests they are not likely to be true biological relatives. The higher the index, the stronger the likelihood of a biological connection.

What kind of sample is required?

For this test, we use a simple cheek swab from the child, the biological mother, and a full sibling of the alleged father to collect the necessary DNA samples.

How long will it take to get my results?

Your results will typically be ready within 5-7 business days after the lab has received all samples.

How will I receive my test results?

Test results will be sent directly to the email address you provided when placing your order. Some locations may also offer access through a secure portal or via secure email.

Do I need to make an appointment?

The Avuncular Informational DNA Test is designed to determine whether there is a biological relationship between a child and their uncle or aunt. This test is especially useful when the alleged father is unavailable or unwilling to participate in a paternity test. By analyzing DNA from the child, the child's biological mother, and a sibling of the alleged father, we can determine whether the uncle or aunt shares a biological relationship with the child.

This is an informational test, meaning the results are intended for personal knowledge and cannot be used for legal purposes. If you're seeking peace of mind and are not planning to use the results in court, this test is ideal. If legal proof is required, we recommend the Avuncular Legal DNA Test.
